First Amendment Troop
Presents:

The ResistDance

SINCE TRUMP MADE HIMSELF THE CHAIRMAN OF ENTERTAINMENT AT THE KENNEDY CENTER.

WE DECIDED TO PREMIERE THE SCRIPT HE’S BEEN WRITING.

On Presidents Day, the US Government remained in a shutdown over a battle to secure or turn a blind eye to many of our cherished First Amendment rights.

In light of this pivotal moment in US History, we assembled 22 Broadway dancers and performers to remind voters of the brutal murders of two American citizens by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

Renée Macklin Good and Alex Pretti were executed by federal officers during a protest against ICE presence in their neighborhood streets. No charges against their killers have been filed. The President of the United States watched numerous videos showing the unfolding of the horrific incidents. He remains satisfied with the outcome. No apology offered to the American people. No justice served.

The name of this performance is The ResistDance.

Through this piece, these dancers will forever memorialize these two great American Heroes and pay tribute to all those innocent people who have died, have been persecuted, imprisoned illegally under the racist and xenophobic leadership of Donald Trump.

We hope you will come join us in the fight to preserve our endangered democracy.
